About Me

New Cartography is one of Helena von Salome’s various internet contributions.

Helena is a fiction author with short stories published in the Notre Dame Review and Soon Quarterly, and a truly fantastic novel well on its way to paper & ink actualization.

She also moonlights on occasion as a feminist social critic and renegade academic.

As to other work, she fancies herself an Adventurer of the old school gentleman kind, and is both skilled and lucky at locating any and all excuses to get on a plane, train, or bus to elsewhere. She does all of this in spectacularly ridiculous shoes.

She lives in Manhattan (her first, last and favorite place in the world), when not gallivanting across the globe at a moment’s notice.
